Additional information about surrounding area and attractions:
Winter Park Ski Resort is a world class resort and the most popular in Colorado. Its five separate ski areas, Winter Park, Mary Jane, Vasquez Cirque, Vasquez Ridge, and Parsenn Bowl, offer trails that satisfy all ability levels. It is a great, affordable family resort with a wonderful Ski School where learners can actually practice on their own mountain in Discovery Park. There are also award winning parks to challenge snowboarders. The uphill lift capacity of 36,900 per hour ensures less time in line and more time on the slopes. The addition of the $8 million Panoramic Express detached six-pack chair lift taking skiers to Parsenn Bowl has increased lift capacity and delivers skiers to groomed and gladed tree
skiing on Parry's Peak and Mount Eva trails. At 12.060 feet above sea level, it is the highest chair lift in North America. The Resort continues to expand its base village with the addition of shops and restaurants. A new cabriolet transports skiers from the parking lots directly to the base village.
Winter Park with its location near the Continental Divide boasts the most consistent snow season after season. During the 2008/2009 season it received 378 inches of snowfall.
With its location near three lakes and Rocky Mountain National Park, the area also provides opportunities for a full range of summer activities from river rafting, hiking, boating and rock climbing.
