The beautiful Tashmoo Cottage has white pickled wood cathedral ceilings and natural slate tile work, accented by skylights and lots of windows, giving the feeling of being outside in the surrounding forest, while enjoying the privacy of the home. Soft colors and clear lines, crafted with natural materials, create a peaceful backdrop for your vacation living.
The Tashmoo Cottage, offers about 1100 sq. ft. of living area, with one and a half stories. It has three bedrooms, one bath. The Cottage is private and snug enough to be a great shelter for honeymooners, or to function as a wedding couple get-away. It is a great “start of your life” space.
The cottage is also large enough to accommodate two couples, or one or two families with children. It is set up to sleep 6 people comfortably. Pets are welcome to the Tashmoo Cottage.
A full kitchen with a gas stove, a double door refrigerator with icemaker, a dishwasher, a butcher-block peninsula and a microwave oven, suit gastronomes as well as the basic food preparer.
The kitchen is open to the living room, but also to the outside. Multiple windows allow the counters to be showered with light over the tumbled marble counters. A 12'x 28' deck to the west, overlooking a pleasant fishpond, makes for long evenings with outdoor dining, while the sun goes down. The deck is set up with dining furniture, and a BBQ is located just off the front steps.
There are two equal sized bedrooms with generous mirror-door closets. One room features a queen-sized bed, the other has two twin beds. Both bedrooms have double glass doors opening up to the rising sun in the East so you can start to enjoy the day, even before you get out of bed.
A stairway to the upstairs loft and newly added bonus two twin bedroom, offer a place for your guests, or extended family.
All three bedrooms, share a full bathroom with a soaking tub, on the first floor. An additional outdoor shower on the North wall, is still our favorite for showering off the sand, after a long day at the beach.
The Tashmoo Cottage is a fully winterized cottage, with forced propane heat, in addition to the efficient glass door wood stove, hat can also function as an open fireplace for romantic ambiance
There is a “middle green” with a circular driveway, between the buildings on the large property, perfect for young bikers to practice their skills on, before going on the public road. A volleyball net is provided on the middle green, that is also perfect for your family badminton tournament. On a side lawn, we can set up a croquet course, if your family would like to play that, please ask. There is also a basketball hoop for friendly competition. The property is set back 300' from the road. The paved road ends right past the property. There is a little more than a mile to bike or walk down to the Tashmoo Public Beach.

Description of surrounding area and attractions
The Tashmoo Cottage sits on a property bordering to forested aea, at the base of the West Chop Penninsula. You round the West Chop Lighthouse as you enter into Vineyard Haven Harbor, on the ferry from Woods Hole, across the vineyard Sound.
From the Tashmoo Cottage deck, there is a mile and a half jog or hike on a forested dirt road down to the not much known, but public, Tashmoo Beach. We are also near a Landbank Beach called Winfred's Pond. There, the brack water pond is beautifully set next to the soft path you as you enter the Landbank property on your way to a pebblerich short stretch of beach, on the Vineyard Sound side. You may catch a distant view of the ferry coming across from Woods Hole with your weekend guests. Dogs are welcome both at the Tashmoo Pond Beach, and, early and late hours, at the Landbank Beach. Bring a doggie litter bag....
The Mink Meadow Golf is bordering the road to the beach, and has it's drive-in entrance less than a mile from here. You can find information on the web, and reserve time on the green without a membership.
At the Tashmoo Dock, there is a public tennis court if you do not want to forget your tennis skills during your vacation here. It's about a mile walk on a dirt road, as well. We can provide connections to sailing captains that give classes and sun-set sail adventures out of the local Tashmoo Dock.

Rates, Cancellation And Refund Policy:
The Tashmooo Cottage is open for vacation rental all year round.
Off season rates: $200, per night, two nights minimum, ($400)
In season rates: $272, per night, one week minimum ($1900)
We charge a one time set up fee $120. You can arrive to freshly made up beds and clean bathrooms stocked with towels and tissues and basic hand soap.

Deposits:
A reservation require half the rent and a signed vacation lease in hand.
We ask to hold a 15% security deposit during your occupancy.
