Sanibel Island is a sheller's dream. The island is known for it's beautiful beaches and long time support for maintaining it's natural beauty. Development is restricted - nothing taller than three levels and no restaurant drive throughs are allowed. Years ago McDonalds tried to build a restaurant and the locals revolted. There is no Mickey D, BK, KFC, etc, but there are plenty of locally owned, locally "flavored" restaurants to choose from. Or save some money and cook and eat at home. The kitchen is large and equipped for just about anything. We have more than just the basics, like a food processor, crock pot, blender, and a gas grill.
