Skiing ranked Squaw Valley USA #5 overall, one of only two
Sierra resorts in the top 10 and the only Tahoe resort in the top

resorts of Whistler/Blackcomb, BC, Alta/Snowbird, UT, Jackson

1. RAFT or KYACK down Truckee River from Tahoe city(Lake Tahoe) to River
Ranch(Alpine Meadows entrance)...4 miles...2-3 hours, then burgers, beer
on the terrace of River Ranch watching other fearless explorers.
2. SWIMMING, TENNIS & ICE SKATING. Ride CABLE CAR up to High Camp(8500 feet) in Squaw Valley to large lagoon swimming pool, hot tub, ice skating, lunch on terrace....spectacular views of Squaw Valley, Lake Tahoe, mountains.
3. HIKE part way up Shirley Canyon in SV to water fall...easy hike, big
water flows cascading over boulders, wild flowers, mist. Or all the way to High Camp(8500 ft) to cool off in the swimming pool. Many other trails described in brochures.
4. RESORT at Squaw Creek...big swimming pool, kids pool, hot tubs, restaurants, shops, boutiques, golf, tennis.
5. BICYCLE on bike path, separate from road, along entire SV. Cross Hwy 89 at the traffic light, bike path along Truckee River at water edge to River Ranch, then continue to Tahoe City(Lake Tahoe)... scenic, tranquil, flat ride.
6. MOUNTAIN BIKE after cable car ride to High Camp, ride from top of Squaw Valley down trails. Many other mountain trails described in brochures.
7. GOLF 18 holes Robert Trent Jones course in the meadow with surrounding mountains
8. HORSE BACK ride from stables to ridges, woods and creeks in Squaw Valley
9. TENNIS courts in valley floor and at High Camp at top of cable car with spectacula
