Description of the Poggio delle Magnolie Vacation Rental Villa / House
Title/Quick Description
Umbria is known as the green heart of Italy. It is easy to see why as its underpopulated tiny hilltop villages have fewer inhabitants today than they did in Medieval times. Views remain as lush and verdant as ever and a combination of mild climate, national parkland and smallscale farming has left large areas looking as they did centuries ago. Tiny olive groves, family sized vineyards, shimmering cornfields and all watched over by sentinel cypress trees it really is breathtaking.
Specific information about property
This farmhouse is some 1.5 km above the medieval town of Baschi and is a wonderfully rural location. Some clients have attempted to walk into town and enjoyed it but wished that they had the car to take them back once they have done their shopping! Surrounded by the famous Antinori vineyards whose seasonal colours enhance the view with regimental lines of colour and in October, enjoy watchign the vendemmia as the San Giovese grapes are harvested the traditional way.
Free to explore the beautiful gardens spread over various levels, with their scented shrubs, lovely borders and mature trees it is easy to forget that Baschi is so close. The poggio takes its name from the avenue of magnolia trees that leads down to the tennis court which early in the season provide a burst of pale pink flowers that is simply staggering. Well tended inside and out, this wonderful villa offers extremely spacious and comfortable accommodation for a large family or group of friends looking for a little privacy yet not wanting to be too far from some interesting sights.
