Description of surrounding area and attractions
Our own private island resort is located on North Carolina's Outer Banks. We're bordered by miiles of blue water on one side and hundreds of acres of protected marshland and wildlife preserve on the the other. Deep water canals weave through the small island nestled on the Roanoke Sound protected by the Islands of the Outer Banks. Roanoke Island is home to a variety of attractions to suite any vacationer's interests. Step back in time at the Fort Raleigh National Historic site or stroll through the Elizabethan Gardens and enjoy an array of beautifully arranged flowering plants. Just down the road is the North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island. The acquarium is home to the Graveyard of the Atlantic tank which houses a 1/3 scale replica of the USS Monitor as well as tiger sharks, barracuda, and a variety of other large saltwater fish.
