The town of Trevignano is on the northern shore of Lake Bracciano - a large lake in the bowl of an extinct volcano about 35 miles north of Rome. This crystal clear lake is so clean it serves as a back-up reservoir for the city of Rome. It is great for swimming and all non motorised water sports. Sandy beaches, restaurants and bars sit along its shores. Sailboats, sailboards and pedaloes are available for rent around the lake.
We are perfectly positioned for sightseeing trips to Rome which is about a 1 hour away but easily accessible from Trevignano by bus and train. The restaurants around the area specialise in fish - from the sea and the sweet fresh fish of the lake.
A road runs the 30miles (50 kms) around the lake - ideal for walking and cycling. The whole area is dotted with historical sites - Etruscan, Roman and Medieval. The house is a 40 minute drive from the nearest beaches and there are many resorts heading north towards the beautiful beaches of Argentario and porto Ercole.
