This picturesque former fishing village rises up the hillside from the harbour overlooking a beautiful bay. There are shops selling glassware, silver, jewellery, clothes, carpets and the traditional hand painted pottery, staying open until midnight. You can relax in the street cafes or visit a nearby beach club, which offer sunbathing, swimming, water sports and restaurant facilities. Tthe local bus will take you to nearby Kas or to the town of Fethiye, or to Kaputas Beach, a small, stunning sandy beach in a ravine, or you can visit Patara beach which boasts 12 miles of golden sand. You can hire a jeep to tour inland or along the coast, you can paraglide in Kas or Olu Deniz or you can take part in the many water sports offered, scuba diving, sailing, snorkelling or cruising. You can also visit one of the many historical sites to see the rock tombs or amphitheatres.
