Description of surrounding area and attractions
Beaches
You can reach the beaches by foot or by bus and microbus:
Chiaia Beaches, ideal for families with children: 350 meters;
Cava dell'Isola Beach, for young people: 900 meters;
Citara Beach, where is Poseidon Thermal Garden: 1 km;
San Francesco Beach, paradise under Tip: 1,5 km;
Bay of Saint Montano, a splendid bay where is the wonderful thermal park of the Negombo.
EXCURSIONS
From the Forio’s Port (100 m) hydrofoils for Naples, and excursions every day for:
Capri, Ponza, Ventotene, Sorrento and Positano,Amalfi, Pompei, Vesuvio.
Citara beach – Forio.This beach is at the foot of Epomeo, and is one of the most popular of the island. The crystal-clear water mixes at several points with the thermal water spas, allowing you to bathe in the sea and have the benefit of thermal water at the same time.
Baia di San Montano – Lacco Ameno.This unusual beach, closed in between Mount Vico and Mount Zaro, has unique characteristics compared to the island’s other beaches. The clear sea water is very hot and the water is extremely shallow.
Sant’Angelo
Today the old fishermen village Sant’Angelo is an international tourist resort.
No cars are allowed to drive in Sant’Angelo and compared to the other villages of Ischia’s, it’s still a peaceful oasis. In Sant’Angelo you can enjoy a marvelous panorama view over the brightly colored houses joined to the small hill on the harbour.
Exclusive boutiques, fine jeweler’s shops, ateliers, handcrafted goods, especially the local pottery, allow the visitors a special shopping experience.
Thermal Gardens
The thermal parks and gardens represent the most loved tourist attractions of the island: they consist of a series of swimming pools, containing sea water as well as thermal water, facilities for bathing and for beauty treatments, tropical plants, and refreshment points. They are usually located near the sea and the main beaches, from where it is possible to enjoy a spectacular view of the coast. From the Villa its only a short walk to the most beautiful Thermal Park .

In spring, summer and autumn, the villages on Ischia organize several events: most of them are linked to religious festivals, that are an important part of the island’s tradition and cultural identity.

Villa MariaLuisa is right in the center historical of Forio d'Ischia (at 100
meter by port and 300 meter by prox beach of Chiaia ,very good for
children ) ,and is encircled from a Mediterranean garden of approximately
2000 mq with trees of Lemons ,Mandarin, Oranges, Palms,Coco's ; is composed
by 3 apartments recently restructurated of different metrature (60/90 mq)
for 2/5 persons(max.6 persons) . Any apartment have kitchen, hall/
bedroom, wedding bedroom, bath with shower and bidets and adjacent space of
garden .
In the spring can be enjoyed the pleasant ones smell of the citruses in
flower.

Villa is in Forio on the northern side where there are a lot of evocative
areas of naturalistic interest. Its territory is particularly for wine
industry.In Forio are the wonderfull beaches of Citara and Cava Chiaia,San
Francesco and very important thermal sources in Citara and in the bay of
Sorgeto, where it's possible to take a warm bath all year round. It is the
only town which has preserved its entire historical centre with its tiny
streets, churches, sighting towers and monuments.
Apartment is near the most beautifully seaside of Island (Citara, San
Francesco, San Montano, Cava dell'Isola , Chiaia) and the most important
Thermal garden (Poseidon and Negombo). Many water sports, as well as fishing
and tennis, picturesque coastal walks plus excellent swimming are all
available to make this a fabulous holiday for the whole family . Swimming
pools, bars, restaurants and supermarkets are all within a moments walking
distance, bring you home from home essentials and entertainment, while the
surrounding area offers an abundance of good restaurants, bars, and many

You should visit the exotic garden of villa Gancia, 'Villa Mortella garden's
Lady Walton ; the troglodyte house dug into a mass of tufo and
Poseidon'garden and la Colombaia ( museum of Luchino Visconti Director of
'il Gattopardo). The main monuments are: the Soccorso'church (Italian
stamps),Torrione'big tower, San Vito'church. If Ischia town is considered to
be the business centre of the island, Forio is probably the cultural one. In
the 1950 it was an international meeting place for show business
personalities (Visconti,Pasolini,Sir William Walton,De Filippo, L.Taylor and
R.Burton),writers (Morante, Moravia, Guttuso, Auden, Pablo Neruda),the
jet-set (Jackelin Kennedy, AristoteleOnassis) and many others. The wavy
shoreline of Forio allows bathing not just from the beaches but also from
other more secluded spots. You can easily get to Zaro or to the only Sorgeto
near Panza which, due to its hot water wells, is the favourite place in any
season for a midnight dip
