Spoleto Festival takes place in Charleston during the last week of May and the first one of June (arts in all its forms: opera, ballet (classical, modern, folklore), theater, music for everyone. It is an event initiated by Jean Carlo Menotti first in Spoleto, Italy, and now in Charleston, SC, and Sidney, Australia. Not to be missed! Savannah, Georgia, is just 35 miles away. The City of Savannah is another southern beauty, and the airport is very friendly.
