The Russian River region of the California wine country specializes in the distinctive Pinot Noir - this valley’s unique microclimate proves to be ideal for the plethora of special wineries equaling and even surpassing the flavor, depth & intricacy of our proud French cousins. Numerous wine tasting rooms are open within 20 minutes from the River House. Consult the winery map or ask at Sophie’s Cellars in Monte Rio for suggestions. (707) 865-1122
The River House is a wine & food lovers retreat – spend the day in the tasting rooms on Westside road, sample the ‘Haute Cuisine’ at a variety of Local Restaurants; then relax at home in the all cedar sauna, or the steam room, or sip champagne in a real redwood hot tub up in the tree tops under the stars.
The River House is perched above the emerald water of the Russian River just a few minutes from the ocean. Take a walk along the beach or sit out on the front terrace and wonder at the ever-changing panoramic view of rolling meadows; a wild life sanctuary for eagles and egrets, ducks and otters, feeding in the abundant water. Stay and watch until the sun sets over the hills.
