If you saw the film The Red Violin, the opening scenes were filmed in Cremona, the “birth place of the violin. Visit the Cremonese (the 1721 Stradivari located in the Commune), check out the Stradivari museum, stroll the corso, enjoy the opera at the Ponchielli, or simply sit and sip a cappuccino in the piazza. Due Colonne is in a newly renovated (2005) building in the historic district of Cremona. Comfortably sleeping four, this one-bedroom, smoke-free loft with cathedral ceilings and a balcony is steps from an urban grocery store, a fresh fish market, wonderful restaurants, and all of the gelataria that you will need.

Description of surrounding area and attractions
Your apartment in Cremona is centrally located to many other wonderful destinations in northern Italy: In about one hour you can tour: Milano, Verona, Parma, Mantova, Lago di Garda, Castell’Arquato (a quaint medieval town), Wine regions, The Alps and others. In about two hours you can reach: Lago di Como and Bellagio, Torino (home of the 2006 Winter Olympics), Bologna, The Seas (Adriatic and Ligure) among other sites. Venice is only three and a half hours away! Due Colonne is well situated for those coming without a car. Interntional flights arrive at Milan Malpensa, which is one hour by (very frequent) bus to Milan Central Station, from which trains take about 75 minutes to reach Cremona. Cremona itself has an excellent urban transport system, and from the train station Milan, Piacenza, Fidenza, Crema, Lodi, Parma, Mantua and Brescia can be reached directly in about an hour or under, with Modena, Pavia, Bergamo and Bolgna taking somewhat longer.
