Description of surrounding area and attractions
Rugged peninsulas, clean beaches, towering mountains and some of Ireland's most famous landmarks. West Cork is famous for its natural beauty.
A favourite holiday destination for generations, West Cork offers a wide variety of vacations and breaks - from gourmet heaven in Kinsale to the bustle of Dingle, from the lushness of Killarney National Park not far away in Kerry, to the wild Atlantic views at Mizen Head.
The region is historically and culturally important and still has a number of Gaeltacht areas. Visits to islands such as the Blaskets, Garnish and Cape Clear are particular treats while the Ring of Kerry and Killarney and Kenmare town remain firm favourites year after year.
Tragumna itself is a tiny community balancing on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean with a local Pub named the 'Eagle' which is known across the country for its Irish Hospitality, its love of traditional music and its ability to transport all who step through its doors, back 100 years in time.
