We are away from the cruiseship folks, other tourists and west end hubba bubba, however, close enough to visit. It’s a quiet area...perfect for a relaxing getaway. You have the reef, water, mountains...hammock to lazy in or read...plus other amenities.
You can kayak or take a water taxi to one of our favorite hangouts, Hole in the
Wall. In addition to seafood, burgers, etc., they have an "all u can eat"
lobster and steak bar b q on Friday and Sunday that is popular. You'll meet all
the colorful local sailboat folks there. There is also a great locals
waterfront restaurant in Jonesville, POOKIES, serving up reasonably priced Honduran/Mexican food. It’s accessible by kayak, boat and road. Turquoise Bay, a resort, is just down the road about 3 miles.
Additional information about amenities:
We had been diving all over the Caribbean and could have moved anywhere in the
world, however we selected Roatan, and specifically Caribe Pointe Bight, for its
unmatched beauty and reef access. We came down from Florida in our boat 9 years
ago and built a waterfront boathouse and a concrete house up the hill, where we
live full time. The villa was completed iin 2010.
