Additional information about surrounding area and attractions:
This part of the Smokies is often called Western North Carolina's best kept secret. You are a short drive away from horseback riding, whitewater rafing on the Cheoah or Nantahala. You are near Deals Gap, Tail of the Dragon, Cherohala Skyline, tubing Deep Creek, Smoky Mountains Railroad, fishing two pristine lakes and many streams, swimming, boating, Tsali, Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, Great Smokies National Park, gem mining, waterfalls, artisan galleries, auctions, Great Smokies Railroad, etc. It's amazing. If you like taking mountain photos, this is the perfect spot for it. We have more authenic old cabins and barns than you can shake your hiking stick at! Drive about an hour, and you can visit the Biltmore Estate, Dollywood, Cades Cove, Tuckassee Caverns, and more. Frankly though, when you're in our part of the Smokies with all it has to offer and the great beauty you will see, you may not be very inclined to spend too much time with the hassle of tourists and traffic. A week just won't be enough.
