West Bay Beach is the nicest beach on Roatan. It provides everything one could hope for in a Caribbean holiday setting. The sand is like baby powder, the coral and sponges are magnificent and very accessible with the need of a boat. Due to the fresh current coming in from West Bay being at the end of the island, the fish are large and numerous in varieties. Sighting rays, squid, turtles or Grouper is not unusual. It is a perfect swimming beach and it has coral that comes right up to shore. There is a variety of eating establishments a short walk away on West Bay Beach ~ no need to go to the town of West End. We have a nice little mall on the main road that is about a 15 minute walk away along the beach and then down a beach access road, where you can find a deli, gift shops, video rental, wine store and coffee shop. Gumbolimba Park is just to the east toward West End and another short walk away.
