Description of surrounding area and attractions
Minutes from the several entrances to the Blue Ridge Parkway. 1 mile from historic Biltmore Village and Biltmore Estate. Whitewater rafting, horseback riding, golf, fishing, canoeing, hot air ballooning and snow skiing available. Asheville is a mecca for antiquing, shopping in boutiques and galleries. Historic attractions include Grove Park Inn, The Thomas Wolfe Home and museum, the Grove Arcade and Riverside Cemetery. The highest point east of the Mississippi is easily accessible from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Asheville hosts one of the largest street fairs, Bele Chere, the last full weekend of July. The Apple Festival is held annually on Labor Day weekend. The full array of color during the Flower Festival at Biltmore in April and May is a flower extravaganza not to be missed. Live music at the Orange Peel, Grey Eagle and Stella Blue is one-of-a-kind eclectic experience!
