Akumal, Mayan for the Place of the Turtle, is the nesting beach for the logger head and sea turtles. We are located a short distrance from the runins of Tulum and Coba, area cenotes, Atun Chen, XelHa, Xchret, and other eco-parks. There is snorkeling out the front door and the town has a number of dive shops for scuba and fishing boats for hire. There is a gyn, spa, and Yoga classes in town. The town also has 2 markets, a number of restaurants, a local fruit & veggie market on Wed. and Sat., a cyber cafe, and a laundry.
