The nearest town is Englewood, with the larger town of Port Charlotte only a 20-minute drive away. The villa, complete with fishing dock, backs onto a local waterway which attracts an interesting variety of bird life, but not so many as to cause a nuisance. There are six golf courses within two miles of the villa.

Many enjoy fishing off the Matanzas Bridge, on the Intracoastal Waterway, and in the ocean surf. Good surf for interested surfers and a river for kayaking too, a great place to get out and explore. You can walk 2 miles south on the beach except during very high tides. And we are less than 1/2 mile to the Fort Matanzas National Monument with trails and beaches. Xcaret is an eco-park that features sea turtles, snuba, underground rivers you can float in or snorkel in, butterfly pavilion and a spectacular Mayan cultural show. X-Plor is a brand new attraction featuring zip lines, exploring an underground paradise and jungle exploration on an incredible amphibious ATV! Or you can visit Hidden Worlds zipling park and tackle the "Avatar" the world's only "roller coaster zipline"! Other nearby activities and attractions include horseback riding, ATV jungle rides, shopping and nightlife in Playa del Carmen, scuba diving or just relaxing under a palapa with an ice cold margarita
