This villa is a self catering house tucked up in the dunes of Utah Beach - spectacular views over the sea to Grand Camp Maisy, Point du Hoc and the Isles of Marcouf. The house is in a group of 30 houses ours one of 14 with sea views and complete privacy with a path leading directly from the back gate on to the glorious sandy WW2 invasion beach. The house is an upside down house, designed over 2 floors to maximize the views from the 1st floor. On this 1st floor with the sea views there is an open plan living, kitchen, dining area which leads into the glass veranda and out onto the sun terrace. This floor also has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. On the lower ground floor there is a large double with an en suite shower room. A further 2 double rooms with a 'jack & Jill' shower room - both bedrooms at the front of the house have french windows opening out into the garden.
This house has direct access onto the world famous invasion beach Utah. The garden gate opens out on to the dunes (which retain the heat so is a glorious place to sit) with a path leading directly onto the beach. The tides go out for miles thus making it a fantastic beach for Oyster & Moules cultivation. The beach is fine sand with 3 natural hard tracks which make it unique for training horses and for joggers - you even see the odd cyclist too! This means there are natural lagoons so especially in the summer months there are pools of really warm safe water, great for kids and the dogs! We have curious harbour seals all around this beach that quite often pop up to see what is happening, dolphins have also been spotted. Each year the beach is slightly different dependent on tides and currents in the summer of 2008 the sea exposed 2 landing craft from the 6th June 1944, this year 2009 the currents have changed again, the sand has recovered them.
