New York City and Manhattan Island

Considered by many to be the number one city in the world, New York City offers visitors an abundance of wonderful things to see, do and explore. Start at the top of the Empire State Building for a spectacular panorama of Manhattan Island and nearby vistas. Take a short boat ride to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island where the history of the millions of immigrants who enter the United States there is displayed in a fascinating museum. The ice-skating rink and NBC tours at Rockefeller Center make it a hub in mid-town Manhattan. Across the street is Radio City Music Hall, home of the musical extravaganza shows of the world-famous Rockettes. Another must-see is Central Park where you can stroll, jog or take a horse-drawn carriage along acres of trees, plants, rock formations, lakes, and other scenic beauty -- including a zoo. In Manhattan, and the other four boroughs that make up New York City, there’s always another neighborhood to explore, another restaurant to try, another show to see or event to attend. Plus you can enjoy the surrounding waterways via the famous Staten Island Ferry, a Circle-Line cruise around the island or a drive over the Brooklyn, George Washington or Verizano Bridges. Public transportation is abundant all through the city and most residents and tourists alike love to walk the streets and avenues to take in all the sights.
